Version 2.5 Feature Update

The current release is Pixel!FX 2000. However, we are making this archived list of features available for the convenience of customers using older versions of Pixel!FX. The current version contains all the features below as well as newer enhancements added prior to the latest release.

Improved Scanner Support

In addition to added support for new scanner models, the following scanner support enhancements have been made:

• ADF option support on the HP ScanJet IIc and IIcx
• Standard interpolated resolutions of up to 800 dpi for the HP ScanJet series
• Howtek D4000 now supports up to 4000 dpi optical resolution

Interleaf 6 Layered Application

Pixel!FX can be installed as the default image editor for all your Interleaf 6.0 applications. This allows you to:

• Easily drag and drop images from the Interleaf desktop into your document.
• Launch Pixel!FX automatically by double-clicking on an image.
• Update your Interleaf 6 documents automatically by saving your image modifications in Pixel!FX.

Live-Linked FrameMaker Integration

Pixel!FX can be installed as a FrameMaker Inset editor for all your FrameMaker 3.0 and FrameMaker 4.0 applications. This enables you to:

• Easily add images to your FrameMaker documents by using the "Paste to Frame" command from within Pixel!FX.
• Launch Pixel!FX automatically by double-clicking on an image.

Expanded File Format & Compression Support

File format support added for:

• Interleaf (.img)
• FrameMaker Inset (.fi)
• Sun Rasterfiles (write only)

New compression formats supported:

• TIFF
• LZW
• CCITT Group 3/2D and Group 4
• Multi-page TIFF
• JPEG lossy

Integration with the GIS application ER Mapper has also been improved.

Pixel!OCR

• The interface has been improved to make Pixel!OCR easier to use.
• A new recognition engine and English dictionary support have been added, resulting in recognition accuracy improvements.
• European language support has been added.
• Dot matrix recognition is now supported.
• Multi-page documents can be easily scanned due to added ADF support for HP ScanJet models as well as new support for multi-page TIFF file formats.
