Mentalix Application Note #10009

Subject: RS6000 using the second SCSI bus

Problem:

Pixel!SCAN is not seeing the scanner on SCSI bus 1, 2 or 3.

Solution:

1. Upgrade to v4.0-002 or later or 5.0-005 or later.

2. Run the Setup program.

3. Install the scanner as usual, but choose 'Create install script -- don't execute'.

4. Exit Setup and edit the file /tmp/Mentalix_Install_Script.

5. Change the line:

   /usr/sbin/mkdev -c scanner -s scsi -t scanjet -p scsi0 -w0....

   TO

   /usr/sbin/mkdev -c scanner -s scsi -t scanjet -p scsi1 -w0....

6. Replace -p scsi1 with the name of your SCSI controller device.

7. Execute the script /tmp/Mentalix_Install_Script.
