Subject: SGI using the second SCSI bus

Problem:

Pixel!SCAN is not seeing the scanner on SCSI bus 1.

Solution:

1. Become super-user.

2. rm <device file>
   where <device file> is a name like /dev/scanJetIIc_5 as referenced in the $PIXELFXDIR/scanner.ref file

3. mknod <device file> c 195 <minor number>
   where <device file> is the same name as above and <minor number> is 128 + the SCSI address of the scanner

4. chmod 666 <device file>
