Subject: Trouble starting Pixel!FX products

Problem:
When trying to start Pixel!FX one of the following error
messages is displayed:

'difficulty opening password file () no such file or directory'
-
'License server host: <hostname> specified in the password
file is invalid'
-
'Incorrect host name: <hostname> specified in the password
file'
-
'Incorrect License Server machine ID: <wrongID> specified.
Actual unique machine ID: <correctID>'
-
'License server password has expired'
-
'License server password Start Time or Stop Time is incorrect'
-
'Password line for program <programname> contains invalid
entries'
Solution:

Install the password and make sure it is in $PIXELFXDIR/passwd/passwd.

Please check LICENSE SERVER HOST line in $PIXELFXDIR/passwd/passwd
file and verify that the license server host name matches the
output from the command "hostname".

Please check HOST line in $PIXELFXDIR/passwd/passwd and verify
that the host name matches the output from the command "hostname".

Please check HOST line in $PIXELFXDIR/passwd/passwd and verify
that the unique machine ID (third entry in the line) is valid.

Password has expired. Contact Mentalix for a possible extension
of the password.

Please run $PIXELFXDIR/bin/password and match the Start time
and Stop time entries with those on the password that was sent
by Mentalix. If you have a Permanent/Forever License, Stop Time
entry should be 0 (zero).

Please check your password file: $PIXELFXDIR/passwd/passwd.
There are invalid entries in PROGRAM lines. Possibilities are:
invalid license, wrong version number, incorrect time stamp,
wrong password strings, and/or invalid characters (such as;
'=', '>', etc.).
