Mentalix Adds NIST File Support To Fingerprint Software
Low-Cost Authoring of Industry Standard Interchange
Format Now Available
PLANO, Texas -- Mentalix, Inc.'s Fingerprint
Utility API Toolkit(TM) now supports the creation
of ANSI/NIST files and is compatible with specialized
NIST formats such as the FBI's Electronic Fingerprint
Transmission Specification (EFTS) standard. Mentalix's
comprehensive data export routines include single-step
image writing with WSQ, JPEG and CCITT group compression
capabilities (WSQ compression requires the Mentalix
Fast
WSQ API Toolkit(TM)).
The NIST format permits users to save transaction information
and biographical data as well as fingerprint, subject
pose and signature images in a single file. The format
is used by governments as a standard for exchanging,
storing and matching fingerprint identification information.
The Fingerprint Utility API Toolkit enables systems
integrators to add fingerprint image processing functions,
such as advanced cropping and NIST file creation,
to law enforcement and civilian security software
systems. Used in conjunction with Mentalix's other
API products, developers can create a fingerprint
scanning interface with FBI-certified IAFIS compatibility,
WSQ compression/decompression, and color image scanning
for non-fingerprint images, including mug shots.
The Fingerprint Utility API Toolkit is available for
$200 as an add-on to Mentalix's Fingerprint Scan API
Toolkit(TM), which enables developers to add an IAFIS-certified
scanning interface to turnkey systems. Both Toolkits
work on Windows NT/2000(R) and UNIX(R) systems as
well as multi-platform systems.
