Mentalix's Low-Cost Scanning Solution Receives FBI Certification
Fingerprint Scan API Toolkit Passes IAFIS Tests With AGFA DuoScan
T1200 Scanner
PLANO, Texas -- Mentalix, Inc. announced that the Federal
Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has certified that Mentalix's
latest Fingerprint Scan API Runtime Library module
complies with the IAFIS
(Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System)
IQS Appendix F 500 ppi (Section 2.0) Scanner Specifications.
The Runtime Library, teamed with the AGFA DuoScan
T1200 scanner and a Windows® 95/98/NT system, sets
the new low-cost/high-performance standard for Appendix
F 500 ppi 10-print card scan solutions. This DuoScan
T1200 Runtime Library module is available to systems
integrators and developers as part of Mentalix's Fingerprint
Scan API Toolkit. The Fingerprint Scan API
Toolkit provides a common API for a growing list of
certified and non-certified scanner models on Windows
and UNIX® systems. With typical FBI 10-print card
acquire and process times of just 30 seconds, the
T1200 solution performs at two to three times the
speed of competing products while shaving nearly $2,000
off of the overall solution cost.
Mentalix created the Fingerprint Scan API Toolkit for
systems integrators and developers who wish to add
IAFIS
IQS-compliant fingerprint scanning to larger, customized
solutions for civil and law enforcement applications.
Because the Toolkit interface is both platform-independent
and scan-device-independent, Mentalix can quickly
adapt the application for certification testing with
additional operating systems and scanners. This allows
the company to offer "drop-in" software updates as
new scanner models become available, which in turn
makes it easier for integrators to keep up with the
latest technology developments.
The Fingerprint Scan API Toolkit enables the creation
of 10-print card and latent print scanning solutions.
With its 'C' API, the software allows integrators
to provide a scanning interface for users of Windows
95/98/NT and UNIX systems as well as multi-platform
environments. Additional features include a fingerprint
definition template for support of non-U.S. fingerprint
cards or for custom applications. For systems integrators
whose clients also have broader imaging requirements,
Mentalix offers the Pixel!SCAN
API Toolkit, an add-on product that may be
used in conjunction with the Fingerprint Scan API
Toolkit to handle both fingerprint scanning and more
general-purpose scanning needs.
