Mentalix Adds ADF Batch Support To Fingerprint Scan
API Toolkit(TM)
Support for Unattended Multi-Card Scanning Is Now
Available
PLANO, Texas -- Mentalix, Inc. announces the availability
of multi-card batch scanning with Version 3.1 of its
Fingerprint
Scan API Toolkit. The software enables unattended,
duplex (both sides) fingerprint card scanning -- meaning
that one person can use a low cost desktop scanner
to perform batch scans that formerly required multiple
personnel and workstations.
This functionality is included in Mentalix's FBI
IAFIS-certified software library for the Epson
Expression 1640XL scanner, which supports an automatic
document feeder (ADF) and duplex scanning. The user
can place up to 50 fingerprint cards in the ADF, and
the software will scan both sides of each card in
batch mode, without requiring additional input from
the user for each card scan.
Version 3.1 of the Fingerprint Scan API Toolkit can
be used as a "drop in" replacement or upgrade for
existing fingerprint solutions. The Toolkit allows
integrators to provide a fingerprint card and latent
print scanning interface for users of Windows NT/2000(R)
and UNIX(R) systems as well as multi-platform systems.
Features include support for non-U.S. fingerprint
cards or for custom applications and a choice of several
scanner/platform-specific libraries, each certified
by the FBI as being compliant with its Integrated
Automated Fingerprint Identification System (IAFIS).
Certified runtime library modules are available for
500 ppi 10-print card scans and 1000 ppi latent print
scans. The software works stand-alone, but can also
be enhanced with Mentalix's
other API products which provide FBI-certified
WSQ compression/decompression, automated fingerprint
image cropping and color image scanning for non-fingerprint
images such as mug shots.
